What is your assessment of the performance of your mayor?
In Metro Manila, the people have spoken. Mayors Rex Gatchalian of Valenzuela, Vico Sotto of Pasig, and Isko Moreno of Manila got high approval ratings because of their performance in delivering the necessary services under Coronavirus diesease (Covid-10). Gatchalian got 92% approval ratings, Sotto got 83% while Moreno got 76.
Other mayors who made it to the top 5 are Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro with 69% and Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano with 68%.
At the bottom are Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto Rubiano with 21%, Las Pinas 24% and Malabon Mayor Antolin Oreta with 25%. Mayor Joy Belmonte of Quezon City also edged Mayor Oreta by one point making her the fourth from the last with 26%.
The results are based on the online panel survey conducted by PUBLiCUS Asia, Inc. in partnership with Kantar. A total of 1,000 Metro Manila residents aged 18-70 formed part of the survey respondents and were interviewed between May 5-8 2020
Surveys like these provide a glimpse of how local officials are performing. Hopefully, more of these will be conducted to include also the local chief executives in the rest of the country.
